*NEWLY PUBLISHED* Patterns of Revision, Grades 3-5 & Grades 6-8

Invite students into the act of revision with any piece of writing using the brand new Patterns of Revision lesson process from the best-selling authors that brought you Patterns of Power for authentic grammar instruction. Whitney La Rocca will share why revision is important for students to understand and how teachers can explicitly teach and engage their young writers in discovering how to revise for coherence and clarity:

  • Delete repetitive and extraneous information
  • Rearrange for a logical progression
  • Add information to connect and clarify
  • Combine ideas and sentences

Whitney and Travis will also interactively connect this work to STAAR with constructed responses in both reading and writing and the revision of them. Bring joy and conversation into your classrooms with strategies learned throughout this powerful day. Come ready to write, talk, laugh, and learn!
