Kristi Matlock

Reading Recovery teacher, Reading Specialist, ESL teacher and Director of ESL and
Bilingual Education

Kristi Matlock is an Educational Consultant who loves helping people learn, grow and excel.
She has worked in public schools for 17 years gaining experience in educating students,
coaching teachers, and collaborating with administrators. Her various roles include: classroom
teacher, Reading Recovery teacher, Reading Specialist, ESL teacher and Director of ESL and
Bilingual Education. Kristi is passionate about improving instructional practices and has
experience working with schools and teachers implementing the Fountas & Pinnell Leveled
Literacy Intervention System, a balanced literacy program and the Gomez and Gomez Dual
Language Enrichment Model.
Kristi graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Science in Applied
Learning and Development and received her Master of Education in Administration from Texas
A&M University-Commerce. Kristi enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and traveling.
