Emerging Bilinguals, ESL strategies, Dual Language, Math, Science. Spanish and English Language Arts and Reading TEKS

I was born and grew up in Honduras with 6 siblings, an American mom and a Honduran dad. I go every once in a while, to visit my extended family that still lives there. I retired at the end of June, 2022 after 43 years in the field of education. I was blessed to do what I love and love what I did. I have been a monolingual teacher, a bilingual teacher, an instructional specialist and a bilingual/dual language/ESL coordinator in Plano ISD. I have always enjoyed my roles as an educator and a trainer. I helped implement the one-way dual language in Plano and helped write curriculum, assessments, while designing the program. I plan to continue with my passion to help teachers and am looking forward to this new chapter in my life.
I have 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters who are the light in my life. Every weekend is a new adventure with them, sewing, baking, shopping or simply conversing. I am so glad they all live close to me and I can see them whenever I want.
I really enjoy doodling and have incorporated into some of my art. It helps me relax and focus when I am in a training or meeting. I also enjoy cooking, baking, and doing crafts. Looking forward to taking some art classes in the near future.
