Literacy K-8

Valinda Kimmel is a PreK-8 literacy expert working in partnership with schools and districts across the U.S. facilitating professional development and collaborating with teachers to plan instruction that engages and empowers. She has been the lead-learner along with students from PreK to eighth grade for three decades in her home state of Texas and in Europe. Valinda is an avid reader herself and is fanatical about providing choice in classroom libraries brimming with diverse texts for all readers. She partnered with school district leaders in her hometown to design a tri-city summer reading initiative, HEB Reads, to bring school and community libraries together.
